IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE
Vaccinations is a serious concern to all pet owners. Here at Boca Village Animal Hospital we will customize a vaccination protocol for each of your pets. When doing so we will take into consideration your pets age, lifestyle, general health condition and exposure to other animals. Based on the evaluation our doctors will then recommend a vaccination program which may include for dogs a yearly vaccine against rabies, distemper, parvo, corona virus, leptoseirosis, bordetella, and lyme disease; and for cats a yearly vaccine against rabies, distemper, and feline leukemia. By following your pets’ tailor made vaccination protocol you will be assured that your pets will be properly protected against diseases which are readily transmitted in our tropical, urban, and transient environment. Please make an appointment today to discuss the vaccination needs of your pets with one of our doctors. Remember the best way to protect your pets against disease is to vaccinate them!

Treat your pet to a luxurious bath. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that stop the itching. Services also include nail trim and ear cleaning.
MICROCHIPPING
Microchip identification is a safe and very popular way to permanently identify your pet. Microchip identification of your pet involves placement of a small electronic chip, the size and shape of a grain of rice, just under the skin in the area between the shoulder blades. A very sharp needle is used to inject the chip with minimal discomfort. If your pet is due to be spayed or neutered or have its teeth cleaned, we can place the microchip while they are under anesthesia without them feeling a thing!
In the unfortunate case that your pet is lost or stolen, and is transported to a humane society, shelter, or veterinary hospital, your pet will be scanned for the chip. The scanner reads the number on the chip that is assigned only to you and your pet, and you will be contacted. (It is not however, a tracking device.)
We advise you to use this system of identification as well as a collar identification system on your pet. To learn more about microchip identification, please feel free to call us and speak to a staff member
RADIOLOGY AND ULTRASOUND
- RADIOLOGY – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.

Why Laser Surgery?
- Less Pain- Laser energy seals nerve endings as it moves through tissue. Your pet feels less pain post-operatively.
- Less Bleeding - The Laser seals small blood vessels during surgery which allows your veterinarian to perform surgeries with extraordinary precision. This also speeds some procedures reducing the time that your pet will be under anesthesia.
- Less Swelling - Laser energy does not crush, tear or bruise because only a beam of intense light contacts the tissue.
- Laser surgery is ideal for a wide variety of surgical procedures including spays, neuters and declaws. Laser surgery will also correct many common conditions such as cysts, tumors and warts. Compared to conventional surgery,
- Your pet will feel better faster after Laser surgery. Lasers have been successfully used on humans for over 30 years.
